Analysis

Pair 2 is CORRECT. The Madhesi, also called Terai basi Nepali, are an ethnic group native to the Madhesh plains of southern Nepal in the Terai belt, and their agitation over the new Nepali constitution kept them in the news. Pair 3 is CORRECT. The Rohingya are an ethnic Muslim minority in majority Buddhist Myanmar. Pair 1 is INCORRECT. Between twenty five and thirty five million Kurds inhabit a mountainous region straddling Turkey, Iraq, Syria, Iran and Armenia, making them the fourth largest ethnic group in West Asia, with no connection to Bangladesh.

How to crack it

All three communities were genuinely in the news, so recognition alone gains nothing and the question turns entirely on placement. Log every community that appears in international reporting as a triplet of community, country and the issue that put it there. Note also the elimination shortcut: rejecting the Kurd and Bangladesh pairing alone removes two options, so one confident rejection can close a three pair question.
