  1. World Economic Forum
  2. UN Human Rights Council
  3. UN Women
  4. World Health Organization
Show answer

Answer: A. World Economic Forum

Verdict

The answer is the World Economic Forum. It publishes the Global Gender Gap Index.

Analysis

The Global Gender Gap Report is a World Economic Forum publication, ranking countries on gaps between women and men across economic participation, educational attainment, health and survival, and political empowerment. In the 2016 report India ranked 87th among 144 countries, an improvement from 108th the previous year. The United Nations Human Rights Council and UN Women work on gender equality but do not produce this ranking, and the World Health Organization publishes health statistics rather than a gender gap index.

How to crack it

Report to institution mapping keeps recurring across these papers, and the World Economic Forum has a recognisable stable of its own: Global Gender Gap, Global Competitiveness, Global Risks and Travel and Tourism Competitiveness. Note the useful discriminator: the Forum measures gaps and competitiveness, the World Bank measures regulation and development, the IMF measures macroeconomic and financial conditions, and the UNDP measures human development.
