Statement by statement

Statement I – CORRECT: National Handloom Day is observed every year on August 7. On this occasion, the Ministry of Textiles posted a few select pictures of PM Narendra Modi wearing local traditional attire of some Indian states. The day commemorates the Swadeshi movement that began in 1905 and was first observed in 2015, marking its centenary celebration.

Statement II – CORRECT and is the correct explanation of Statement I: The formal proclamation of the Swadeshi Movement took place on 7th August 1905 in a meeting held at the Calcutta Town Hall. The Boycott movement was also launched along with the Swadeshi movement. Hence both statements are correct and Statement II is the correct explanation of Statement I.
