Statement by statement

Statement 1 is INCORRECT. Digital India is aimed at transforming the ecosystem of public services through information technology, with the vision of a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. Building Indian internet companies on the Chinese model is not among its stated aims.

Statement 2 is INCORRECT. Compelling or encouraging overseas multinationals that collect Big Data to build large data centres inside India is not part of the programme's aims as set out for the Plan.

Statement 3 is CORRECT. Under the Plan, the National Information Infrastructure would integrate network and cloud infrastructure to provide high speed connectivity up to the panchayat level, and cities with over a million people along with tourist centres would get public Wi-Fi hotspots.

How to crack it

Statements 1 and 2 both describe ambitions that sound modern and governmental but belong to industrial or data localisation policy rather than to a service delivery programme. Ask what the scheme's own stated vision is and reject aims imported from adjacent policy debates. Reading the official about page for major schemes, rather than commentary about them, is what separates these two levels.
